Misinformation in Mata v Avianca

Mata v Avianca, a case for not using AI in court. Presented by Briar Grayson on December 8th at 3:00pm in the FIMS grad library. Now with 20% more jokes. Come hear about types of deception, lawyers breaking the rules of professional conduct, misusing AI. Sit in the library for 30-60 minutes while I tell you about the most off the wall nonsense I've ever heard of someone doing in court.

On December 8th at 3:00pm, MLIS student Briar Grayson will present a case study about Mata v Avianca, a landmark case in the United States where two lawyers decided to use AI in their court filings, were discovered, and then kept lying about it. The presentation was originally created for FIMS 9328 Misinformation and Viral Deception. Originally fifteen minutes long and delivered at top speed, this presentation has been modified to run slightly longer and includes some content that was cut for time.
