myFIMS Printing

FIMS Papercut is used to manage your printing account balance and to print from your device to FIMS printers. You can access your account by signing in with your FIMS username and password (✅jjohn56 , ❌FIMS\jjohn56).

NEW: Print jobs will no longer automatically print.To retrieve your print job you must tap your Western OneCard on the printer that you sent your print job to and then it will print. You must log out of the printer once your print job is complete.

How do I check my balance?

Two options:

  1. Log in to any FIMS computer and check the amount listed in the green box on the top right corner of your screen.
  2. Log in to your myFIMS Printing account and check the Summary tab.

How do I add money to my account?

  1. Pay in cash at the FIMS Graduate Library service desk for a $5, $10, or $20 credit. Unfortunately, we do not have petty cash and can only accept exact change, $1/$2 coins and bills.
  2. You will receive an automated email confirming the amount that was deposited to your account.
  3. If necessary, log in to your myFIMS Printing account using your FIMS username and password to check your new balance.

Note: Master’s students will automatically have $5 available on their myFIMS Printing account when they start the program.

How much does printing and scanning cost?

Printing & Copying

Black & White: 6 cents per side of page
Colour: 18 cents per side of page

Scanning

Printer/copier/scanners (MFDs): 2 cents per scan
Book scanner at the computer bar: Free!

Can I use the money from myFIMS Printing account at other libraries on campus?

No, you can only use this money for printing, copying, or scanning from devices on the FIMS server. These devices are located in the FIMS Nursing Building only.

Check with the service desks at other campus and affiliate libraries to learn how to print in those locations.

Can I get a refund for a print job that didn’t work?

If a print job fails due to mechanical or system reasons, you can submit a request for a refund through your myFIMS Printing account.

  1. Sign in to your myFIMS Printing account using your FIMS username and password.
  2. Access your Recent Print Jobs list.
  3. Click Request Refund in the Status column for the job in question.
  4. Select a full or partial refund.
  5. Enter your reason for the request.
  6. Click Send.

Your request will be considered and resolved within 24 hours of submission.

Note: No refunds will be provided for jobs where the “print preview” matches actual print output. All print jobs over five pages should be “print previewed” before printing to ensure that the job is formatted correctly.

What happens to the money on my account when I graduate?

FIMS does not refund any remaining balance on your print account back to you when you leave the program, but you may give or sell what is left to another student who has a FIMS print account.

  1. Sign in to your myFIMS Printing account using your FIMS username and password.
  2. Click Transfers.
  3. Enter the amount you would like to transfer.
  4. Enter the FIMS username of the person you would like to transfer funds to.
  5. Click Transfer.

How do I print from my laptop?

Send a print job from your own device to FIMS network printer using Web Print.

  1. Log in to your myFIMS Printing account using your FIMS username and password.
  2. Click Web Print (located in the light green sidebar on the left of the page).
  3. Click Submit a Job.
  4. Select printers\FNB_Library_Tosh_BW (black and white)
    Select printers\FNB_Library_Tosh_Colour (colour)
    Select printers\FNB_3rdFloor_Tosh_BW
    Select printers\FNB_3rdFloor_Tosh_Colour
  5. Click 2. Print Options and Account Selection.
  6. Enter number of copies required.
  7. Click 3. Upload Documents.
  8. Upload the file you wish to print.
  9. Click Upload and Complete.
  10. Go to the selected printer and tap your Western OneCard
  11. Log out of the printer once your print job is complete

Note: We recommend uploading your files as PDFs when using Web Print.

How do I cancel a print job?

From the device that you have sent a print job from, go to the toolbar on the bottom right corner of your screen. Double-click the printer icon. This will open a new window on your screen, showing you all your print jobs that are currently in queue to print. Right click the job you would like to cancel and select cancel.

Can I scan for free?

Yes, you can scan for free using our book scanner (CZUR Scanner), which is located on the computer bar in the library.
